DESCRIPTION:This summer the Law Society published guidance for in house leg
 al counsel on how to apply its earlier guidance for the profession as a wh
 ole on the impact of climate change on our work.\n\nThat guidance\, publis
 hed in 2023 (and with an update in 2025 to extend the guidance to cover na
 ture loss)\, set out solicitors’ core professional duties in the context
  of climate change.\n\nSitting alongside that guidance\, the new version f
 or in house counsel aims to help in the translation of those duties into p
 ractice\, recognising the distinctive nature of that role.\n\nDavid Hunter
  is Senior Counsel at Bates Wells and a member of the Law Society Climate 
 Change Committee responsible for producing the guidance.\n\nIn this online
  session\, David will run through the guidance and lead a conversation aro
 und its practical implications in different contexts.\n\n&nbsp\;
