  LLP\n\nFollowing the General Election on 4 July\, Siobhan Mulrey and Mitc
 hell Roberts of Bevan Brittan LLP will take a look (82 days after the Elec
 tion) at what has changed in employment law\, what is on the horizon\, and
  what this means for in-house lawyers working in the charity sector.\n\n1.
  A new duty to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace\n\nSiobhan will 
 focus on the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023 w
 hich comes into force on 26 October 2024 and introduces a duty for all emp
 loyers to take "reasonable steps" to prevent sexual harassment of employee
 s. Siobhan will cover:\n\n• The legal context behind sexual harassment -
  how the Equality Act 2010 defines it and who is held responsible\n• Wha
 t the new duties mean for employers\n• What is classed as ‘reasonable 
 steps’ to prevent sexual harassment\n• The practical steps organisatio
 ns can take to comply\n\n2. Impact of a new government on employment law f
 or the charity sector\n\nMitchell will cover the first 100 days of a new g
 overnment and beyond in relation to on employment law\, including:\n\n• 
 An analysis of proposed employment law changes to trade union rights\, new
  day one rights\, pay\, family friendly rights\, fire and rehire and worke
 r status\n• The potential impact on employers and employment practices\n
 • Actionable steps to ensure compliance and readiness\n\nQ&amp\;A with S
 iobhan and Mitchell\n\nYour speakers\n\nSiobhan Mulrey is a Legal Director
  specialising in employment law. Since qualification in 2011\, Siobhan has
  supported employers in all areas of contentious and non-contentious emplo
 yment and HR matters\, with a particular interest in complex settlement ne
 gotiations\, board level disputes\, trade union recognition and negotiatio
 ns and strategic advice on large-scale redundancies and restructures. Siob
 han acts for a wide range of employers in the commercial sector\, as well 
 as charities/not for profit organisations\, the education sector and indep
 endent health and social care organisations.\n\nMitchell Roberts is an Ass
 ociate in Bevan Brittan’s employment team. Mitchell is experienced in ad
 vising on all aspects of employment law\, but with a specific expertise in
  litigation. Mitchell has acted for both UK clients and international clie
 nts\, including USA and Canadian companies in the tech and life sciences s
 ectors\, as well as a variety of NHS Trusts and police forces. Mitchell al
 so has experience acting for senior executives in the financial services s
